This letter is to confirm the actions taken by Lowes Guardian Angels that aided in the recovery of my brother, Paul Sparlin.
Paul was hospitalized in the first quarter of 2016 for gastric reflux and regurgitation which was causing extreme irritation of his esophagus. Doctors recommended surgical implantation of a gastric feeding tube in his abdomen which would have required he be immobilized. His quality of life would have been seriously impacted if this was done as he would have been strapped down to his bed 24/7 to keep him from pulling the feeding tube out.
Hospice was recommended when our family declined the feeding tube procedure for Paul.
Home/Home Care was terminated when Paul began to lose weight and waste away.
Mrs. Lowe and her staff took over and hand fed Paul with small portions numerous times daily for months until he stabilized and began to gain back the weight he lost.
This personal level of nursing care was above and beyond the normal duties that staff is expected to perform and speaks volumes for the dedication of Lowes Guardian Angels to their patients and especially my brother, Paul Sparlin.
